Coworking Europe Returns to Amsterdam This November

This November in Amsterdam, Coworking Europe will host its annual conference for flexible workspace enthusiasts, owners, and operators, offering an in-person program for the first time in two years.

Produced by SocialWorkplaces.com, the Coworking Europe conference was first launched in Brussels, Belgium in 2010. Since then, over 3,500 professionals have attended the conference, making it one of the largest communities of coworking and flexible office operators, real estate brokers and developers, consultants, architects, designers, technology and service providers, and stakeholders worldwide.

In previous years, the conference has taken place in a range of top European cities, including Amsterdam, Warsaw, Dublin, Brussels, Berlin, Barcelona, and Milan.

According to Jean-Yves Huwart, CEO and Founder of Coworking Europe, Amsterdam seemed like the perfect place to plan the conference this year, as it was the site of one of the organization’s most successful conferences in years past.

“We look forward to catching up with the industry players from around Europe after two years of virtually only gathering,” said Huwart. “So many things have changed since 2020. New players have entered the coworking arena, and we are very excited to meet with them — including those focused on creating a regional footprint somewhere on the continent as much as those building up Europe wide expansion strategies.”

At its core, Coworking Europe aims to facilitate the transition from the traditional workplace model towards a sustainable, human-focused WaaS (Workspace as a Service) model.

As part of this year’s dynamic program, speakers will include:

  • Thijs Sprangers, Area Director Benelux and Nordics at WeWork
  • John Williams, Head of Marketing at The Instant Group
  • Emma Swinnerton, Head of Flexible Workspace EMEA at Cushman & Wakefield
  • Igor Dzhebyan, CEO at Andcards
  • John Preece, Chief Property Officer at Hub Australia
  • Mark Gilbreath, CEO of LiquidSpace
  • Liz Elam, Founder of GCUC

With such an international group of speakers, the conference will offer a unique and exciting networking event for all coworking communities operating across Europe and beyond. This year’s program will also address several trending industry topics, such as what the role of coworking will play in the massive global shift toward hybrid working and automating flexible workspace management.

Additionally, speakers will cover the development of meeting room-only operators, how coworking can remedy the Great Resignation wave, and how the coworking community can mobilize to support Ukraine’s refugees, startups, and other initiatives.

“This year is a transition year between the end of the Covid-19 crisis and the big shift towards a generalized hybrid working model. Home working is now a given in most organizations. Resistance against it are not bearable, anymore. However, the more people experience working from their living room or from their kitchen, the more the constraints also are visible,” said Huwart.

“Whereas coworking was historically associated to freelancers and entrepreneurs, now coworking is about a tectonic shift in the office market as a whole. There will be champions, as well as niche or boutique providers. We are seeing new innovation and process to manage flexible spaces and address the new needs of tenants, big or small. Coworking Europe is the perfect place to meet with those bringing about these changes and invent the future of the workspace market on demand and hospitality driven,” said Huwart.
