infinitSpace a provider of white-label, tech-enabled flexible workspaces, has entered into a management agreement with landlord and real estate developers Banlieu BV to launch state-of-the-art flexible workspace location in Amsterdam’s new Republica development.

Designed by Marc Koehler Architects and Frank Loer Architects, Republica is an innovative mixed-use development complex comprising of six buildings. In the past months, residents have moved into the apartment buildings, while the hotel operator Bobw.co will open in October. The final phase of the new development will open in January 2024, containing a variety of retail and workspaces, including top amenities like outdoor spaces, a café, event space and a rooftop pool.

Sustainability is also a key element of Republica. It is part of ATELIER’s EU-funded Smart City project, with its six buildings forming part of Amsterdam’s Positive Energy District.

Republica is in the vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhood of Buiksloterham in Amsterdam-Noord, an area known for its industrial history but renowned today as a creative community. It is accessible by a free ferry, connecting Amsterdam-Noord to the city center within a few minutes.

Co-founded by Wybo Wijnbergen, former WeWork MD of North and West Europe, and his brother, serial tech entrepreneur Wilco Wijnbergen, infinitSpace will launch the flexible workspace in Amsterdam-Noord under the ‘beyond’ brand as ‘beyond Republica.’

Spanning a total of 2,000-square-meters, beyond Republica will be spread across three of the development’s six buildings: The Joker (a multifunctional commercial space for businesses and creatives), Small Girl (an office building), and Hotel (a 116-room boutique hotel and a rooftop pool, restaurant and bar). Republica’s other three buildings are primarily residential, boasting a combination of 32 owner-occupied flats and 23 rental apartments.

infinitSpace will design the new flexible workspace and equip it with cutting-edge technology, including a branded app, which will connect flexible workspace members as well as businesses and residents across the Republica development. The workspace provider will be responsible for marketing the space, managing new memberships and overseeing the ongoing operation of the site.

Following the launch of multiple flexible workspaces in Europe and the UAE, beyond Republica marks infinitSpace’s fourth ‘beyond’ location in Europe and the second in The Netherlands, where its head office is also located.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Banlieu BV on this landmark project. Our ethos is that flexible workspaces should be the beating heart of a community, allowing us to move seamlessly through the professional and personal spheres of our lives, a notion that is woven into the fabric of the Republica development which truly embraces modern living and the 15-minute city concept, with all of today’s must have amenities are nearby,” said Wybo Wijnbergen, CEO and Co-founder of infinitSpace.

“infinitSpace’s signature workspace tech will be instrumental in helping Republica build its community, seamlessly connecting users across the development and equipping members with everything they need to succeed at their business endeavors. I look forward to celebrating what these newest members will be empowered to achieve at this revolutionary new space,” added Wijnbergen.

Machiel Brautigam, Business Owner at Banlieu BV, commented: “Republica is an ambitious and sustainable project, envisioned as a mixed-use hub for community, connection and innovation. And as an entrepreneur myself, it was equally important to have a team on board who truly understands what entrepreneurs and creatives need to thrive. Partnering with infinitSpace, a provider with the expertise and passion to help us realise this vision, was therefore a natural choice for Banlieu BV.”

The project comes as demand for flexible workspace continues to rise among businesses globally, with the pandemic and high inflation accelerating this trend. The value of the global flexible workspace market is expected to grow from $33.23 billion in 2020 to $73.03 billion by 2026. infinitSpace will enable the landlord to capitalize on this trend.
