Meet The Manager: Claudia Cervantes of Panal Coworking

After first discovering coworking at a networking event, Claudia Cervantes decided to get involved with one of the most vibrant coworking communities in Ecuador: Panal Coworking. She began working at Panal as a community keeper and now is the space’s manager, a position she’s held for the last two years. Learn more about Claudia and this lively coworking space in our latest interview below.

What coworking space do you manage?

I’m Panal Coworking’s manager and sales manager for the past two years.

How would you describe the community at Panal Coworking?

The community at Panal Coworking is friendly, and everyone supports each other. All the community members respect the rules and the space to the other coworkers. This is very important to the workplace.

What unique elements make your coworking space stand out from all the rest??

I believe that our coworking space offers all the facilities to the coworkers like office supplies, a strategic location, and the best community. We aren’t the typical boring office; we are a community with a friendly atmosphere. The decoration and the colors are different. The phonebooth is “the star” of our coworking space — it’s new and innovative.

Do you host any special member events to bring the community together?

To keep the community together, we usually organize breakfast time, karaoke nights, or events so that they can have fun, chat with each other, or introduce themselves to others. These are moments the community appreciates.

What are three key ingredients for operating a successful coworking space?

  • Respect the rules of the community
  • Help the members confront their challenges
  • Deliver great service

What is your favorite thing about coworking?

Networking! This is the most important thing.

What is the most challenging part of operating a coworking space?

The hardest part is definitely having the right people to be part of the community, as not everyone wants to spend time during or after their workday with other people. However, people who want to be part of the community have managed to get along with everyone and participate with us.
