Australia’s premium flexible workspace and building hospitality provider, Hub Australia, has launched its new ‘Hub Local’ product in Melbourne’s east, bringing premium workplace experiences to Australian suburbs and closer to home for many workers.
With seven sites planned across suburban and regional Australia in the next 24 months, Hub Local will meet the increasing demand from Australian knowledge workers and businesses for sophisticated flexible and convenient working environments outside of typical CBD locations.
The work-near-home solution aims to help increase people’s work/life balance, reduce workers commute time and inspire productivity with easy access to a flexible range of suites, offices, and desks. Exclusive premium amenities will also be available to members, including a café, business lounge, media studio, and a member kitchen.
Significant demand is being experienced for the Hub Australia’s first ‘local’ site, Hub Local – Box Hill: a three-level workspace in Melbourne’s thriving east that has just opened in partnership with Vicinity Centres.
Hub Local – Box Hill has created new local jobs and partnerships with community groups, such as the Women of Whitehorse and the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse, as well as sponsoring VFL club the Box Hill Hawks. They’re also supporting local businesses such as day cares, fitness centers, and local artists such as Kathy Best and Peta Tranquille, whose eye-catching work is part of the new workspace design.
Designed by architects M. Moser Associates, Hub Local – Box Hill aims to redefine the suburban workspace experience for the next-generation of technology-savvy, health-conscious and modern-thinking professionals, whilst providing the convenience of having everything they need locally. It aims to provide a connection to the local community whilst supporting the local economy.
“Hub Local – Box Hill marks the very first of our Melbourne metropolitan network of near-to-home flexible workspaces under the Hub Local brand. It is the beginning of an exciting partnership with Vicinity Centres, one of the largest retail owners in Australia, as we expand into thriving and well-connected suburban centers, giving companies and their workers the flexibility the market is demanding,” said Brad Krauskopf, Chief Executive Officer at Hub Australia.
“We know companies offering their employees flexible workspace solutions, including near-to-home locations, are standing out in a competitive talent market. How and where Australians work has dramatically shifted over the past decade and workplace experience is king, with even near-to-home solutions needing to earn the commute. It’s our role to make the office experience more attractive than working from home – and when we do this right we know the benefits range from increased local economic activity to higher rates of employee engagement,” added Kraukopf.
“There is significant demand for premium flexible workspace with hospitality-led services in suburban Australia. This follows a structural shift in the world of work, with occupiers of leased space and flexible workspace having much higher expectations of amenity and workspace services than ever before, regardless of office location. Our ambitious expansion plan through Hub Local will add flexibility, great amenity, and a level of service not currently provided outside of CBDs,” said John Preece, Chief Property Officer at Hub Australia.
“The launch of Hub Local – Box Hill is an exciting first step in our partnership with Hub Australia, bringing dynamic and flexible workspaces to Melbourne’s east,” said Truman Dare, Vicinity’s General Manager Mixed-Use Development.
“Workers at Hub Local – Box Hill have access to outstanding amenity, seamlessly bringing together superior workspaces, retail and dining experiences. Vicinity’s mixed-used strategy focuses on leveraging the existing convenience and connection to our retail centres, to meet the evolving needs of the local community,” added Dare.
